Danish DIY underground Death Metal festival 30th August - 2nd September 2012

 

One of Europe's most true underground Death Metal festivals will return in 2012! If you were here the last years, you know you have to go again. If you weren't, you really don't want to miss it again!

 

The 2012 edition will be held 31st August - 2nd September in UNGDOMSHUSET at Dortheavej 61 in Copenhagens Northwest quarter.

 

The festival will be a 4-day event, with a warm up show Thursday 30th August at Loppen in Copenhagens freetown Christiania. The festival will present 25 international acts, metal DJs, good cheap quality beer, vegan foodstalls, horror-movie screenings, distro-area and outdoor hang-out space.

 

Upon request we have chosen to add an extra day to the festival. The extra day will be a theme/concept Sunday we have chosen to call "Gloomy Sunday". We will make a chilling Sunday in our smaller venue called "Dödsmaskinen" (translated "Deathmachine") with 5 doom death / funeral doom bands plus a variety of snacks, drinks and other goodies to make it a nice, slow and heavy Sunday.

 

The Kill-Town Death Fest is a celebration of the current underground Death Metal scene and the active bands and people involved. Our goal is to create a festival that puts focus on the music and the bands, not money and prestige. The festival is based on D.I.Y. ethics, meaning that the festival is non-commercial so neither, we the organisers, nor the bands playing the fest, are making money. Thats also why we don't want to do headliners and all the bands will get the same treatment. Our primary focus will be on the Scandinavian underground Death Metal scene, but we will also try to bring in a few treats from other parts of Europe, as well as the rest of the world.

International travellers are very welcome and we will do our best to provide good offers on cheep accomodation. We will this year try to work on a combined ticket / accomodation solution, so that it will be easier and cheaper to take part of the festiaval as an international traveller. We are also working on a number of joint transport solutions from Jylland, Sweden and North Germany.
